It’s Extravasuzannza time! Starting today and for the next two weeks to celebrate the release of my first PAX book–The Beast Within–I’ll give away PAX mugs and PAX t-shirts with my fun “We Save the World So You Don’t Have To” PAX logo, and autographed books from my backlist. At least one prize every day!
For those of you with your own blogs, if you read The Beast Within and I catch you talking about it on your blog, I’ll highlight your blog here and send you your pick from my backlist! Today’s catch: Joely Sue Burkhart! “I read a really fun, fast book last night, Suzanne McMinn’s The Beast Within….” Read Joely’s entire discussion of The Beast Within here.
For today’s Extravasuzannza……play the Author Name Game! Prize: a PAX mug! The game starts with an author name. Take the last letter of the author’s last name and come up with another author whose first name starts with that letter. For example:
Teresa Medeiros (ends in S)
(starts with S) Suzanne Brockmann (ends in N)
(starts with N) Nora Roberts (ends in S)
(starts with S) Stephanie Bond….and so on!
Play as many times as you want–but not twice in a row. Author names can be used more than once–but ONLY once by the same person. For example, once YOU use Nora Roberts, YOU can’t use her again but someone else can.
Get stumped? There’s a big list of author names here.
What about names that end in a really, really difficult letter like q, u, v, x, y, z? For those six letters ONLY, you can go to the last letter of the author’s FIRST name to play off for your next name. For example, if someone says Alesia Holliday and you can’t think of an author’s name that starts with a Y, you can play off the A at the end of Alesia instead. And if people post simultaneously playing off the same name and you are the next person to come along, just play off one of the last responses and keep going.
The winner will be the comment number that matches our hotel room number on Ocracoke Island!
All right! PAX mug on the line…….. Get down with your bad selves! Here’s the starting name:
Jill Shalvis.
Go!

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
