I think she’s rather socialize that be seen in the company of her mother(no offense intended!) so she took the bus.

If it were my son, he’d come home with me. If it were my daughter, she’d probably tell me to stay until the end of the day and then she’d ride home with me. So I’ll guess she headed home with you.

It sounds like she was having a great time celebrating with her friends! So, I think she would have wanted to extend her time with her friends! She sacrificed her TV time and took the bus home. Happy Birthday!
