Name-That-Chick Giveaway (Time’s Up!)

Jun
2

This little banty came out of the egg angry.

Always a little different.

Always a bit apart from the others.

Plotting something…..

….like your imminent death.

Convinced I had a girl on my hands…..

I offered a sparkly purse.

Only, hunh, I’m thinking now that this may not be a girl, after all.

“Prepare to die.”

And so, if you’re not too frightened, what would you name this chicken?

Post your best idea for this chicken’s name and be in the running for a $50 gift certificate to one of my favorite places, Wind and Weather. With your moulah, pick out a lantern, tableware, a weather station, a clock, a gazing ball, wind chimes, rain and wind instruments, a bird feeder or bird bath, garden statuary, a wreath, stained glass, anything and everything to decorate your fabulous porch, patio, deck, and garden areas! One entry per person. Giveaway closes today at 10 PM West Virginia (Eastern) time, so think fast! The winner will be chosen at the total whim of the Princess! So think like you’re twelve, LOL!

Update: The winner is Annette with Spartacus!

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
