When I’m a cat,
you will see me
swishing my tail
so artfully.

If I get up,
and only then,
I will tackle
my best cat friend.

On the kitchen
counter I’ll sprawl
and spread my fur
about for all.

The porch in shade
or even sun
is where I’ll like
to sleep when done.

To sleep will be
my one career,
my job, my work,
or so I hear.

I’ll dedicate
my life to sleep,
dreaming, and, oh,
just thinking deep.

And if you should
try complaining
to me, I won’t
change one darn thing.

When I’m a cat.
