This weekend, the Charleston Daily Mail article about my blog was picked up by the Associated Press statewide. The full story or excerpts appeared on television and newspaper websites such as WSAZ-TV in Charleston, WVVA-TV, Bluefield-Beckley, The Times West Virginian in Fairmont, and (pictured left) in print in the Morgantown Dominion Post. One commenter told me they also saw it online at The Herald-Dispatch, Huntington (though I haven’t been able to track down a story link). The article may have appeared in other places that I don’t know about. If you’re visiting here because you saw the story somewhere I haven’t mentioned, please drop me a comment and let me know!
Reaction on the farm was mixed.
Clover: “I will require a makeup artist and a personal stylist for future milkings. Got that?”

Dookie: “Oh, goody, more attention for the Giant Puppy.”

Coco: “Today, I am announcing my write-in candidacy for President of the United States. I promise a Snausage in every pot, a mud puddle in every backyard, and a slobbery kiss for every voter. My first bill sent to Congress will propose two Saturdays in every week and three Sundays. The other two days will be optional vacation. I love you, man.”

While continuing to work on her full platform, Coco also demonstrated a clear energy policy.
“To conserve energy,” she suggested, “take more naps.”

The Giant Pup is open to suggestions to fill out her campaign platform. Let her know what you want!
Spartacus: “A Giant Puppy for President?”

“Prepare to die.”

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
