Well, with all the snow we’ve had the past couple days, I just had to try this…never had it before. YUM! Will make some for DH when he gets in from shoveling…

We’re getting snow now , maybe if it snows enough I can finally have some snow cream (I’ve been craving it ever since I read this post at the beginning of winter) I might even try it with a little bit of rum .

I remember making snow cream as a kid growing up in chicago , as soon as we got the second snowfall my mom would send us to the store around the corner for the ingredients , then we’d spend the next 10 mins or so outside gathering up snow in big bowls and bringing them in and making snowcream .I haven’t had snowcream in soooo long (LOL) and since snowfall is kinda scarce here in nm I doubt I’ll be having it again anytime soon, but that does look soooo good (I’m drooling now LOL) .

I love snow cream! My mom always made it for us. She did say that some types of snow made better snow cream than others. I think it’s best when the snow is fluffy. We used to pour a little Hershey’s syrup on ours. Yum!

Oh, man, the last time I ate that was in school, in first grade! We used the little cartons of chocolate (or white – but that’s not an option in my world) milk from the cafeteria to make it. I remember thinking it was SO cool to eat ice cream AT SCHOOL!

I’m homeschooling my 6 year old now…think we’ll try this for school one day…

Sounds good and something the kids would have fun making. I have never heard of this use of snow, but we do put maple syrup on ours. :weather: :weather:

Bein’ a Texas girl, I’ve not heard of snow ice cream. Where I grew up in San Antonio, it was a snow day off school if we got 1/2 an inch of white stuff! Not enough to scoop out of the grass. Thanks for the cool idea though if I’m ever somewhere that it does snow alot. I love the other idea someone posted about maple syrup candy made with snow too. AND LOL about the dancing elves.
