Buckeye Bound

Jun
7

We’re headed to Ohio today to pick up Pocahontas. I hope she likes chickens, ducks, goats, sheep, and pigs. Not to mention dogs and cats. And me. And hills and trees and molasses cookies.

A few final clues…..

Pocahontas is NOT….

….a fish.

Pocahontas is NOT….

….a miniature cow.

Pocahontas is NOT…..

….a one-eyed, one-horned, flying purple people eater.

Pocahontas IS….

Oh, never mind that, you know I’m not gonna tell!!

On another note, I’m giving an online workshop on the art of blogging that runs from June 15-19. You can find out all about it here and sign up. You don’t have to be a member of the group to take the class. Online workshops are conducted via a group email list. If you have questions about signing up for the class, email the workshop coordinator, Karen Erickson.

See ya tomorrow–with Pocahontas! She IS…..something special!

We planted pole beans between the corn so the beans can climb up the corn stalks. I’m afraid the beans are getting ahead. Somebody tell the corn to hurry!

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
