When I go down to the feed the piglets…..

…..in their pen, which is a relatively small, confined space, and Mean Rooster is…..

He likes pig food.

This little piglet managed to squeeze out between the gate and the fence to get into the goat yard a few days ago. With a little pig food, I coaxed her back in. (And fixed the gate!)

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either.
