Summer I wonder where it is. We had a bad storm 2 days ago. Now another one this weekend. Roads washed out, bridges washed out. My yard is so soggy you can not walk on some of it. Poor garden is a mud pit. Summer summer where are you??

14.4 inches of rain in 46 days (and still counting as it looks like another gully washer is coming)here on the Mountain. I am so ready to carry some water to the garden instead of watching water surround the garden. The beans and squash, both full of blooms, are begging for more sunshine. The little peppers hanging on the pepper plants-about the size of a quarter-know they can’t grow any bigger when the roots can’t hold on in this muddy ole ground. Welcome Summer, where tomatoes turn a bright red and corn rows grace the sky. Summer where the cucumbers taste so good and the green beans with onions and potatoes are cooking in the kitchen. Bring on the corn on the cob. What a nasty old Mr. Spring you were; goodbye.
