Do you feed them oyster shell? It makes the egg shells harder to break.

I read somewhere that if you put some golf balls in their laying nests, then it will discourage them from pecking/eating eggs since it is uncomfortable to peck at a solid golf ball. I hope this is helpful! If they are laying in your yard, you might have to resort to covering your yard in golf balls ;)...

Yeah...Once chickens start eating their eggs, you're pretty much doomed. It's REALLY hard to get them to stop, especially if you have free range chickens & you're always hunting for eggs.

I have a problem with my guineas eating my hen eggs. I have oyster shells out but they still go for the eggs. I leave the door open so the hens can go in during the day and lay and the guineas get to the eggs. I'm getting ready to fix me up a nice hot red pepper egg and see if he/she enjoys it as much as they enjoys the other ones. Hopefully one day with a burning beak will break them from this nasty little habit! I'll let you know if it works.

Yo not so tough…..my friend

Have you not noticed that my knee caps (actually ankles) have already been positioned in the broken leg direction! Who's tough?...and I'm still scratching out a living!
Do try more protein, hard fake eggs and softer bedding….quick…before I start eating the eggs too....

PS…..otherwise scrambled eggs…..with barn yard salt and pepper…yummm!
PS....Whisper and tell Roo I need to talk to him...ha!
