A goat who escaped the Stringtown Rising Farm barnyard in West Virginia led a farmer on a slow-speed chase Wednesday. The farmer attempted to stop Nutmeg, age 1, at the corner of the porch steps and the side lawn, according to a report released early Thursday morning. Nutmeg was serving a life sentence in the Stringtown Rising Farm facility after being purchased for breeding and milking purposes.
The farmer says Nutmeg escaped on hoof then led her on a slow-speed chase throughout the side lawn at speeds of up to two or three yards a minute.
The little goat attempted to eat the clothes of her pursuer as well as a lock of hair.
Nutmeg was apprehended near a fence and escorted through a gate. She was booked into the Stringtown Rising Farm goat house.
Charges filed included Escape of a Farm Animal, Felony Eluding of a Farmer, Aggravated Assault, Felony Pooping on Porch Steps, and multiple misdemeanor offenses.
According to sources inside Stringtown Rising Farm, cookies were involved in the incident.
