I lived in a chain-link fenced yard. The WHOLE yard was fenced, including the only area to park the car. The gate was a double one that you had to open both sided of to get the car out of the yard. So every morning when I tried to go to work, she would escape. I learned to keep her morning bucket of feed for AFTER I got the car into the street and went back to close the gate. I'd just bang on the bucket and call her. Hey, with food involved she'd come running right to me. And then I RAN to get the gate closed! Had to reverse the procedure each evening when I got home.
