I knew that naughty little corn husk doll was going to come to a bad end.

From the moment she started doing the splits in broad daylight, buck naked.

And then there was the beer.

She didn’t get any better behaved after that. She was always out all night. Never telling anyone where she was going or when she was coming back. Partying till all hours. Coming home smelling like a bar.
Until….
Some say it could have been the breeze.
Some say it might even have been a cat.
But those of us who knew that little corn husk doll know better. She was slapped-up drunk.
And she fell right off the porch.
The chickens raced for her. Then Clover got wind of her unfortunate drop and that was it. I couldn’t get down there quick enough to save her.

That little corn husk doll was gone.

And all we can do now is hope her story will help others.

Clover: “It helped me. Bad girls are….”

“….delicious!”

I’m loving this homemade flour tortillas thing! I can just up and decide I want to make bean and cheese burritos for dinner (with homemade refried beans, too, YUM) and I don’t have to have pre-planned and bought tortillas. LOVE that!

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
