Available now! A Very Clover Calendar — twelve months of photos with accompanying quotes from the wit, wisdom, and enduring arrogance (not to mention charm) that is Clover. Get it here!
I’m offering this calendar through CafePress, which produces an excellent product and provides all the service, packaging, and shipping. A custom print-on-demand calendar isn’t cheap. The base price CafePress offers is $14.99. Anything above the base price is what I receive. I priced the calendar at $15.99, which means I will get one dollar per calendar sold. (The other $14.99 goes to CafePress for printing and handling.) I looked into various other options, not only other online all-inclusive storefronts similar to CafePress but also including taking it directly to a printer myself and handling all the service, packing, and shipping, in an effort to get the price down. However, in order to do that, I would have to place a bulk order for the calendars, fronting all the money myself (at some risk), plus take on all the processing of orders. I just can’t do that.
What can I say, my staff leaves something to be desired.

For that and other reasons, I chose to publish the calendar through CafePress. I did my calendar with them last year and I was very pleased with the product. I priced it as low as possible this year, with minimal profit. I want as many people who would like to have the joy of Clover on their wall to have it, at the best price and quality I can offer.

I hope you’ll enjoy it! (Check out “View Calendar Pages” when you go to the calendar page and you can see each month’s photo and quote.
P.S. If there are enough sales this year to justify making the effort to bring the price down by taking it directly to a printer and putting up the front money as well as the time to print, pack, and ship the calendar myself, I will try that next year.
But somebody’s gonna have to talk to my staff about it.

Because they don’t look ready for that kind of work.

Yesterday it was windy. Blowy. Gusty. Knocking pots off the porch rails and all kinds of other stuff. Got chilly last night. I think they got the first day of fall a few days off this year. It was yesterday.

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
