It’s a chicken! On the porch! The porch is on the second story and therefore supposedly safe from chickens. Off-limits. Decidedly. I don’t want chickens on my porch! I don’t want–

Sometimes I get busy then I look up and am stopped by the reminder of what an amazing place this is to live where all I have to do is open my eyes to see the beautiful hills around me. I’m very lucky.

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia.
