I wish I could tell you (and show you) right now just how much fun we had at the Chickens in the Road party, but alas, it is late as I write this on Sunday night (nearly midnight) and I can’t. Amazing, wonderful people came with amazing, wonderful food and we had an amazing, wonderful (and hilarious) time.

Tomorrow! I will have photos (and photos and photos! and stories!), but for now, I have to give you at least this.

This amazing, wonderful, ADORABLE little girl. Learning to milk a goat from my friend, Kathy, who brought her goat, Gertrude, to our farm for the milking demonstration at the party.

How cute is she in her pink jacket and jean skirt milking a goat? I WANTED TO PUT HER ON A CRACKER AND EAT HER.

The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
