Taking a Gander at the Girls

Jan
29

I’ve noticed lately that Beulah Petunia seemed to look a little heftier.

(No, I don’t think she’s pregnant. She was preg-checked twice and she’s not.)

I wondered if it was just the angle so I went around to the other side of the yard. She does seem a bit heftier! Maybe she’s putting on some weight since she quit working. She has nothing to do but sit around eating chips and watching TV.

Glory Bee, on the other hand, has this weird kind of swag in her back going on. Maybe she needs to work on her posture. She looks like somebody’s been riding her bareback.

I swear I have not!

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
