Color

Color is bursting out all over the place here, and to see the farm this way reminds me of when I first laid eyes on it, almost a year ago now. Hard to believe it has been a year. Then, I didn’t know it would be mine. It seemed too good to be true.

A year later, I have to say, it’s true, it is that good!

It’s On!

I have takers! There will be a cheesemaking and soapmaking day here at Sassafras Farm on Saturday, November 3. I’m giving a price break on this workshop–it will be $100 for the day. This includes a farm breakfast, two workshops (cheesemaking and soapmaking), lunch, and a farm tour. You will chow down on your own cheese and take home your own soap–and a skill to make holiday gifts for your friends and family! We’re gonna have a blast–join us!

To sign up, email me at citrcontact@yahoo.com.

The Slanted Little House

The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
