Goodnight barn.
Goodnight farm.
Goodnight straw beneath our arms.
Goodnight light
that keeps us so warm.

Goodnight dog.
Goodnight frog.
Goodnight cat leaping over a log.
Goodnight hills
all covered with fog.

Goodnight creek.
Goodnight beak.
Goodnight to another week.
Goodnight fluff
grown into feathers, eek!

Goodnight pen.
Goodnight hen.
Goodnight to the other ten.
Goodnight flock
in our safe little den.

Goodnight barn.
Goodnight farm.

Goodnight chicks.

Typical babies: Go, go, go….zonk! Wish I could sleep like that. LOL.

Chicken house is looking great, btw. (I was out of town, just catching up now.)

  2. Becky says:

Chicks and goats. Your on your way!
Do you have a place ready to keep the goat baby when you get one? Will you have a little house for it also?

  3. Sarah in Sanford says:

I love your version of Goodnight Moon. The second picture of the chicks is so cute. He looked like he was posing for the picture.

  4. Suzanne McMinn says:

The goats will need an enclosure and a shelter. When 52 finishes the chicken house, he can start on the goat house! I mean, “we”…..

  5. julie says:

You should think about writing a children’s farm book. (Don’t laugh…I am serious). You take wonderful pictures and you could include them instead of drawings. In the back, you could include information on chickens for the parents. It would be fun!!!
    grace and peace,
    julie

  6. Kacey says:

    Ah, Goodnight Moon. Great memories.

    Those chicks are so cute!

  7. Terry says:

Good Morning Suzanne, I have convinced my landlady,(my daughter and sharer of the duplex) that a few goats would eleminate the need to brush hog the back of our place. It is already fenced with welded wire fence panels and all we need is for her handyman hubby to build a barn for them. Next I am gonna have a moveable chicken enclosure built, it will allow us to move it around the yard so the chickens won’t completly kill the grass. I am excited about all of this and have you to thank, Thank you!!!
    Terry

It’s refreshing to see baby chicks. We usually see kittens(thank you chocolatchic for sharing yours) or puppies. But these baby chicks are fun too.

  14. Lisa J says:

Really cute, at least you can get the chicks to sleep but the real question will be can you keep the rooster asleep past sunrise? Unless you are an early riser yourself, and the kids too. You are sure enjoying them I can tell. Have a nice weekend.

  15. Jennifer Robin says:

  18. Linda~ says:

As I said before when you were asking for suggestions of what you could do; write children’s books about your animals and the farm. And forget paying someone to illustrate them, just use your pics.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

    Linda~

    HOWEVER

I most definitely see a children’s book in your future. Seriously, that entire post would be a PERFECT children’s book. And one that parent’s would enjoy too. Do consider it!

    Suzanne….romance writer…..children’s author.

  34. Margie says:

:cattail: I, too, think you should write childens books. My favorite childrens author is Margaret Wise Brown. Actually, I have been told that I and related to her. I think you would be my second favorite. Your blog site is so interesting and I think children would like your pictures of real animals. Keep up the good work.
