Living Dangerously

Dec
16

I bought this bed for Precious, but Buttercup decided immediately that it was going to be his bed.

The new puppy and I gave in to his “possession is nine-tenths of the law” decree and I put a towel down on the floor for Precious. She wanted to be in front of the fire, too!

Everybody was happy for a few days, until Precious got more comfortable and bounced herself over to check out that pretty little dog bed while Buttercup was otherwise occupied.

Oh, my! That bed looked even nicer up close! She needed to try that bed out! Wiggle all over it!
IMG_3721
Uh oh….
IMG_3727
While the cat’s away, the puppy will— Oh.
IMG_3729
Hi, Mr. Buttercup, sir.
IMG_3730
You’re not mad, are you?
IMG_3731
I didn’t go to do it.

I just fell in here….

….while I was bouncing!

OMG! I know everybody else is seeing that sweet little smile she’s giving Buttercup. “Come on in…we can snuggle”.

What a cutie! Mr. Buttercup better be careful. Ms Precious is going to be comfortable in her new home before you know it, then you’ll have to fight for the bed. Or Cuddle!

They are both cute, but I am partial to cats…I bet they will be sleeping together before long!

Uh oh! Looks like maybe a trip to Tractor Supply is in order to purchase another bed. I hope Mr. Buttercup is a gentleman.

Buttercup seems to be patiently waiting and not trying to chase Precious away…that’s good! Maybe they will share the cozy bed. That would be awesome. Is Buttercup growling or hissing at the puppy?

I just bet they will end up in bed together—that did’nt sound right did it? I meant manybe they will share the bed, or maybe Santa will bring a second bed.

If that’s not a cutely wicked smile, I don’t know what is! I so hope they bond and live in harmony.

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
