Party on the Farm

The Party on the Farm takes place each fall at Sassafras Farm in Roane County, West Virginia. This is a free event, but registration is required.

Check back to this page for 2013 party and registration info. (Party plans are currently on hold due to up-in-the-air plans regarding the book release and promotion.)

If you register but find you are unable to attend, please use the cancellation page as a courtesy.

The annual Party on the Farm is a free event. All ages are welcome and children are encouraged! There’s always food, more food, and fun, along with old-fashioned and crafty country skills demonstrations.

Registration is via an online form. You must be registered to attend and receive all attendee information and details.

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either.
