Last week when I was cleaning out my freezers, I came upon several packages of prepared fruit labeled for various canning recipes. When I was putting away fruit as fast as I could, I didn’t have time to stop and can, so I just measured out and chopped up and froze to can another day. Then I forgot some of them! When I came on one package labeled Apple-Maple Jam, I could hardly wait to can it! It was just as delicious as I thought it would be, and it’s a no-brainer that I’ll be canning it again, and lots of it. Small chunks of apple with spices and maple syrup–if it was me, I’d have named this Apple Pie Jam because that’s what it tastes like!
You can find the recipe here on Farm Bell Recipes: Apple-Maple Jam

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....

I could really used that BBB, apparently. I already have dark maple syrup we got at a local sugar bush, specifically for cooking, it would work perfectly in this.
