Apples, Peaches, and Cherries, Oh My (BBB)

Still on my little series of BBBs that are not BBBs to showcase other great canning literature, I have another copy of Canning for a New Generation: Bold, Fresh Flavors for the Modern Pantry by Liana Krisoff. I have a copy of this book, and one of the things I love about it are all the ideas that go along with the canning recipes, like Afternoon Applesauce Spice Cake to go with the Applesauce recipe and the Apple Pectin Stock. Apple Pectin Stock can be added to a variety of recipes that don’t have enough pectin on their own to set but don’t really need a box of powdered pectin, and it really makes the most of your apples. There are so many wonderful recipes in this book. Peaches in Vanilla Syrup. Brandied Sweet Cherries in Red Wine. Oh my. Do you need this book? Know what I need? Spring, and summer, and fall. I’m so ready for fruit!

Note: You can let me know you want it, or you can still just put (BBB) in your comment–but remember it’s actually a copy of Canning for a New Generation that the winner will receive. If you miss the update with the winner, I’m also still listing these on the BBB Winners List page, so check for your name there.

BBB!! I am so ready for one of these…when we moved, I thought I would no longer be canning so gave all my stuff away…DUMB. We came home early from our summer away last year and I decided to make pickles and some jams…boy that canning stuff is expensive when you have to buy it all at once!! Including 7 dozen pint jars! The pickles and jams made it worth it tho.
I am so enjoying reading your adventures…any time on the land, there will be ups and downs…hopefully you will reach the stage of many more ups.

Wow I would love to win this book, it sounds like a lovely addition to my cache of canning books. I know I can find recipes online but to me a book is so great. I can sit on my porch sip a nice drink and look for inspiration in those pages.
I can more and more of our food each year, and I am pleased that my family has finally gotten on board with my desire to be closer to our food sources and to buy local. The garden gets made a bit bigger this year again and I have already started some seeds. I hope my infant orchard gives me more than one apple this year, this is its 3rd year so I am hopeful.

I would love to win BBB!!!
