The “high canning season” is coming soon! To get ready, I’m starting off by canning some easy-fix meals in a jar for busy days when I’m canning out of the garden and farmers market with this year’s goodness. I’m going to be putting up chili, beans, and some soups. With the foundation of some quick meals on the shelf, I’ll be free to work on other things.
Or not work at all.
Maybe sit in the creek with a glass of wine.

Ha.
Need a BBB so you, too, can sit in the creek with a glass of wine?
It’s a Ball Blue Book Project day! Today’s Ball Blue Book is sponsored by Casie Duberstein in honor of her grandmother, who was quite the cook and whose birthday is today!

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....

I think it was the wine!
My creek is pretty muddy though so I’ll just have my wine on the porch if that’s OK.
Hopefully reading a new BBB!

I have a question for anyone who can help me. Some days I want to click on more than one of the “You might be interested in these” sites. I can click on any one of them okay, but when I go back and want to click on another one I saw previously it is gone. I don’t know how to use this area of the site.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

If she hovers over the link she’s interested in, right clicks, and chooses “Open Link in New Tab”, she can do that with each of the links she wants to check out without leaving the original page.

What a lovely photograph of the creek and the wine…I don’t like wine, but I think I’m going to take a can of soda down by our creek…that, and a good book. Thanks for the inspiration!
