   I hate getting my hair done. I never know what they are going to do to me! I got my hair cut two weeks ago. I couldn’t stand the hair on my neck anymore so I had them cut it real short. It takes some getting use to, but it feels really good in this heat! I wouldn’t dare tell someone else what to do with their hair! That is a personal decision! :smile:

   I have a huge fear of changing my hair too drastically (probably scarred from a bad bad triangle haircut and perm combo years ago) :yuck: so gotta say yup, probably fear it as much as you do

   I’m:rotfl: at the thought of you sporting the Don King look. I got my hair cut short once and regretted it. Couldn’t get past the idea that I’d cut my youth off at the same time. So if it were me, I’d probably leave the length and play with the color.

   “See the woman over there with bright purple hair? That’s Suzanne McMinn!”:shocked:

   I’m getting my Reno haircut on Saturday LOL!!! Twice yearly event. I try to avoid drastic changes now–my face never lives up to the one in the magazine with the trendy hair-do!!!

    I am not a good person to ask about hair
    either – I do not have good hair -it is fine and thin and blonde(going darker each year with age). Shorter is good for the summer or just long enough to pull back with a band. Good luck!:grin:

    I get anxious when I go the salon. I always fear I will come out looking freakish.
    If I were you, I would consider what you would be comfortable with and go from there. If you are looking for a change, haircolor is great way to achieve it.

    As for the hair, I hate going in to get anything done. As little as possible would be my answer. My hair is longer, and I wouldn’t know what to do if I couldn’t pull it back when it annoyed me.

    I LOVE getting my hair cut! Of course, I’m the freak that walks in and says “Do whatever you want with it.” I used to go to the Training Salon and let me tell you how much that scared them!:shocked:

    If you’re like me, you should stay with your usual style. I’ve had the same style since college. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing, but I like it long, and I don’t like messing with bangs. Long and one-length is easy to maintain.

    What book(s) will you be signing at Reno? Will you have more than one there?

    First, thanks for The Honeymoon Man! You are one of those women, yes, I went there, lol. One of those women that looks great no matter if your hair were green or purple. I always wanted to be one of those women! If you color it, don’t go too crazy.. and I prefer medium to long hair, but you might like short. I always want to go short, but every single time I’ve done it, I regretted it. But you know what makes you look good girl, so just go do it! And show us a picture of the finished product. :rolleyes:

    Thanks for the books Suzanne.:heart:I just love to get a haircut because that is my one good feature – my hair.:lol: I have natural curly hair and do not have to pay those outrageous prices for a perm.:bananadance:I go for the shorter look in the summer because it is cooler and keep it longer in the winter. I am very lucky because I found a great hairdresser. :wigglebrow: She is younger than me and I already warned her that she cannot retire before I pass on!:talktothehand:The best thing about hair is that it does grow back if you make a mistake unlike some other things we do that can’t be undone. Tatoos, piercings, operations, botox and such. I have very little grey in my hair but I love to play around a little bit with color. Nothing too drastic – like bleach blonde but I do like to go red. It makes me feel like a Hot Tamale!:twisted:You do whatever makes you feel good about yourself:yes: We all need to take better care of ourselves and take time out for us not just our husbands or children.:grin: I decided to get healthier and joined ‘Curves ‘ for the exercise. I tried to do it at home but that didn’t work. I needed the discipline. I am so weak.:fryingpan:I am short and rather round but always wanted to be tall and thin.:hissyfit:Ain’t never going to happen so I am learning to be at peace with me. My goal is to just be healthy and happy!:thumbsup:

    Me? I LOVE to get my hair cut. That is the only time it will EVER look remotely like it was supposed to.
    You? Hmmmmmmm. I’m torn between Carrot Top and Don King. It’s a tough one, all right.
    How about…same color with highlights? I think that would be lovely. Chunky highlights. Yeah. Yeah. :yes:
    That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.

    I hate getting my hair cut. Well, not really, but I hate having to call and make the appointment. *shrug* I don’t know why, either. I need it cut now since I have to hold it out of m face with barrettes, but I dread making that call. I feel like such a :loser: LOL

    I’m sure whatever you decide will be gorgeous, Suzanne, but if you do go purple…just say you did it because it matches the SIM line. :thumbsup:

    I Love getting my hair cut, colored, and pampered! I’ve had the same hair stylist since I was young and mom took me in so, she totally knows my hair and what would look good on me. I go in and say I want something different, you get to pick what and I’m always happy with it.:thumbsup: I love your hair the way it is!! I believe you can never go wrong with color! Try the temporary color though that washes out evenly so, there isn’t any touch ups later.

    Oh, now that’s an interesting idea, Marcy. Purple for Silhouette Intimate Moments! LOL. Or if tomorrow goes badly, I could end up BALD like Danica suggests….. I’m glad I’m not the only one who is afraid of the hair salon! I miss my hair dresser from Texas. Would it be weird to fly back to Texas just to get my hair cut? :shock:

    Emily, I went to one of those training salons once! They took about four hours to finish my hair. It was scary. I thought I was being held hostage. :wall:

    Alyssa, I’m never sure till I get to the table and can see what they actually got, but I asked for them to have Her Man to Remember, Cole Dempsey’s Back In Town, and The Beast Within at the Reno signing! The only thing I actually know for sure about the signing is that I’ll be there. LOL.

    I hate hate hate to get my hair cut. I’ve been going gray since I was a sophomore in high school. Now, I keep my hair colored, but I’m lazy about it. Once those roots start to show… ops:

    I believe people with long hair have long hair for a reason. Either your very attached to your hair, or have a fear of getting bad haircuts, or you use it to hide behind… the reasons are long and varied. I also have long hair, so my word of advice is whatever you do, go in easy stages, wheither you get it cut or dyed or styled. That way it won’t be so hard to get used to the change and if you change your mind going back won’t be so hard or take so much time to do. If you like the change, you can choose to take it further and then some.

    I wear my hair short. Of course RIGHT NOW it’s the perfect length. If I get it cut now…it will be too short for Reno. If I don’t get it cut…it will look shaggy. Sigh.:wall:

    I personally stay away from coloring because I hate the upkeep when the roots start to show. I seem to notice roots on other people (while I’m out shopping, on TV, etc.). I guess I am a “root snob.”
    I love getting a hair cut! I find that my hair has more body and is much more manageable immediately after a trim or cut. If you are afraid of going short, just get a really good shaping and then go in often for a good trim. You keep the length, but your hair is always well groomed.
    My favorite hairdresser is 300 miles from me, and I have been known to make the trip just for a haircut and/or perm. Besides, when you make the trip, you can get back in touch with old friends! I say make the trip back to Texas!!! We’d love to have you back!!!

    Well, if you go for the wild hair color, just remember, some hair color choices require a DOUBLE PROCESS to restore to the original color. That is also DOUBLE $$$.

    If you’re flirting with the idea of cutting your hair, start with taking off about 6 inches. It’ll feel like a new haircut and you’ll know after a while if you want to grow it back out or go even shorter. Maybe you could get some layers cut into it if you don’t have any or try some highlights or something.

    I’m going to be wishy washy about this and say not too short and not too long…then see if you like what you get
    (and if it suits you)then you can always go a little shorter if you want to.
    If you don’t like the length then it won’t take as long to grow out

    Keep it the same. Don’t even go. This way you don’t have to be worried about them cutting it too short or coloring it the wrong color. I think it’s perfect just the way it is. LOL

    I love long hair but I look terrible in it. My hair is baby-fine and poker straight. Sometimes, in my desperate moments, I want to have it razed off.

    I say stick with what you’re comfortable with. My experiments have been failures.

    I have very thick hair and not every beautician knows how to handle it. I once had a lady cutting my hair and when she was about halfway through, she said, “To tell you the truth, I don’t know what to do with the rest of this.” Can you imagine how I felt? I certainly have never forgotten her comment. Another beautician once told her coworkers, “This is my favorite head of hair to work on.” I haven’t forgotten that comment either. But in any case, I have to allow a long time for the dryer to dry my hair, so I tip well. I feel the person working on my hair deserves it. My mom and dad both had very thick hair and kept it as long as they lived; so I come by thick hair naturally. I have never had a permanent, having naturally-curly hair. But going to the beauty shop kills a lot of my day.

    I love long hair. My hair was extremely long for over 30 years. I finally decided that I needed a new image and had it all cut off. My family freaked. I’ve been enjoying having it short, experiencing something totally different than the usual. Not sure whether I’ll keep it short however.

    I personally love long hair! BUT I really think you should go with what you want! You look at yourself all the time! Short hair may be easier to manage? But if you cut long hair it sometimes will go out instead of hanging straight down!

    It’s hot, chop it off! I skipped the chop last year, and I’ve been intending to cut mine short this year, but I’ve been putting it off. With Hurricane Dennis bearing down, I’m thinking short will “keep” better with no water or electricity.

    If you go short, and you have 10″ or more cut off, consider donating your hair to http://www.locksoflove.org/ — they use donated hair to make wigs for children who’ve lost their own due to disease.

    I think you should go crazy and different. If you trust your stylist, then they will give you a great cut. I never tell my guy what I want other than not very short, I just let him do his magic, and I get tons of compliments! Good luck! :bananadance:

    Hi Suzanne,
    Trust your own instincts,thats what I do.If you feel like its time for a change go for it.You have such beautiful hair I dont think you could go wrong one way or the other.Whenever I do cut my hair it seems to give me more energy.Go figure that one!:wave:
