What is this cat thinking? I have NO IDEA. You tell me! This is Spice, the same cat who was pictured in a watering can several months ago. Now she’s in a plastic bag of water bottles! Does she have a water fetish? LOL.

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....

I’m chillin’ too this weekend. Plan to just hang around, read and catch up on email. Hopefully have a barbeque, too, if the weather holds out.

What became of Sugar #1?
And goody, another book coming in the near(?) future. I know you hinted what you were working on. Congratulations on finishing the manuscript.:bananadance:
What am I doing this weekend? Well, one of my friends is taking me to another friend’s birthday party though I know the parents of the celebrant better. She is a rather strange person and I think she’ll be quite lost without her parents when they are no longer there. But both parents are good cooks and bakers. I’m being awful , I know, but it is kind of hard to deal with her. I think my friend wants a way out by taking me along as well as being good to me by taking me somewhere where there’s good food.
Otherwise, I’ll just be doing what I normally do. For someone on disability one day is pretty much the same enlivened mainly by doctor’s appointments and the like.

I think I’ve mentioned my great-niece’s first birthday party already. She sure got loads of presents and had about 40 people including almost a dozen under-10s dancing attendance on her. And she’s a sweetie too, though not as feisty as Saffron.

Robyn, that’s really neat with your grand-children being so close together. I can say that I have two cousins that were born on the same day but they are not twins. Two of my uncles, well their wives (one each) were expecting children around the same time in Oct/Nov 1961, I believe. One lived in either Toronto or Montreal and the other lived in Winnipeg, MB where our family and the grandparents also lived. So my grandfather got word sometime on Nov. 2 that the Winnipeg baby was soon to be born. So we more or less all congregated at their place to wait with him. Then the younger uncle from the east also called to say that Mama had gone into labor. I’m not certain which one was born first, I think it was the little boy in Winnipeg, followed in less than an hour by a little girl in Montreal or Toronto and of course we had to drink a toast to the new babies and their parents. That was the last of five children for my uncle in Winnipeg and the third of four for my uncle in the East. He had another little girl about 15 months later after he was transferred to Germany. I’m not even sure if they’ve ever met and that is definitely kind of strange and sad. I should ask them or one of their parents if they have met or not. They could have met at our family reunion/80th birthday of my mother but but Jenny couldn’t make it though Markus was there.
