Is Ty Here Yet?

Oct
1

I’m thinking bars on the windows, what about you?

The block for the walkout basement was finished this weekend. Next up, framing. I can’t wait to see! I want Extreme Home Makeover. I want Ty Pennington out here and I want the house finished in a week! I’d even give him two weeks, I’m that nice. I just need a good hardship story to get him out here. I know, ladybugs! They’re coming… It’s that time of year. And if ladybugs aren’t a hardship, I don’t know what is.

Okay, I’m gonna close my eyes and wish real hard…… Tell me when Ty shows up.

Till he does, check out this 4-star review of A Hero’s Redemption at Cataromance. And this lovely post from romance writer Kaye Manro. People are being so nice to me lately. Am I gonna die and no one’s told me? Could you at least tell Ty?????

(This week’s Free Book Friday winner: #27, Cheryl S! Email me!)

P.S. I’m teaching my 12 Easy Steps to Breaking In workshop this month for Charter Oak Romance Writers. Class starts today and it’s not too late to sign up, go here! It’s so exciting being able to see your new house going up! Thanks for sharing with us. Your pictures are always great.

I like ladybugs. Matter of fact, my nickname for my little girl (she’s now 10) is Ladybug.

As for Ty…I have Great Plans for my kitchen. Plans that include a dishwasher. I think our kitchen now has the same sheet linoleum flooring it had when built in the 1920′s. DH is gone in January. Can Ty come then?

    Congratulations, Cheryl!

This is *so* exciting, Suzanne, to see your house going up bit by bit. Once they start the framing, it will be even quicker, I imagine.

I can’t wait for pics of the finished interior. (I’m big on interior renovation and decoration.) I want to know what you chose for kitchen cabinets, counter tops, flooring throughout, bathroom accessories, WALK-IN CLOSET (drool), etc. If you have a video camera, it would be neat to post a virtual tour, once everything is done.

Becki, you’d change your mind about ladybugs if you lived here! They are a plague. I used to love them…

Kim, we’re planning hardwood floors throughout, except the basement, which we’re planning to leave concrete–the better to hose down the teenagers, LOL. That’s all I know right now, but yes, there will be lots of pics, you know it!!! :snoopy:

I had a basement bedroom when I was a teenager. The window faced the neighbor’s driveway and was about that level. I hardly ever got any light. It was always cold and dark. I hated it. At least give your kids some insulation.

Alice, they’ll have insulation and plenty of light, I promise. It helps, being a walkout basement.

Maybe if you promise to introduce Ty to Faye he will come. I don’t think anyone could turn down meeting her!

Wow, your new home is coming along nicely! :shimmy:

    Congratulations, Cheryl!

Congratulations Cheryl!! :snoopy: And Congratulations to you Suzanne on your great book review!!!!!!! :purr: The house is coming along great. I figure you’re getting anxious to start on the insides of it. I know I would. As for the ladybugs, oh no. I hate it when they come. You can’t hardly get in and out of your house without being attacked by a swarm of them. Keep you fingers crossed that maybe they won’t be so bad this year. :whip: Hope everyone has a great day today.

My one aunt has the same wish about Ty showing up on her farm. :cowsleep:

Wow, the basement went up fast!

Thanks for sharing the pictures! It’s exciting to see a house built from the start.
    Congratulations Cheryl!

Okay, I’ll bite, why are ladybugs such a pest?

Isn’t Ty cool!?! How nice it would be to have him and his folks swoop down and finish everything quickly. But I have to say, your basement looks fabulous. :)

I’m ordering a list of books tomorrow from Amazon and A Hero’s Redemption is at the top of the list. Great review! The story sounds awesome.

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
