I Can’t Believe It’s Summer

May
25

This is the last day of school for my three children! The neigh-borhood pool opened this weekend, and I might as well change my address to the poolhouse.

PAX 3 is due in six days and I’m still working on the last chapter. Pray for me.

man, is it summer already?? My youngest gets out next week… Well, at least there won’t be the crazy get ready for school thing going on every morning. I still have the silly get ready for the pesky day job thing though… I don’t think my enthusiasm for summer will quite match yours

    Dear Literary Lord:

We hold up our keyboards in support of Suzanne as she nears her deadline. Yea, though she walks through the house with children underfoot, let her hands be steady as she finishes her Pax 3.
And it shall be so.

    Grins,

One chapter in 7 days? Ah, Suzanne, you can do that standing on your head.

My kids still have two weeks before they get out of school although with our temperatures, it feels like July.

Here’s a little quote for you, Suzanne:

“A perfect method for adding drama to life is to wait until the deadline looms large.” Alyce P. Cornyn-Selby.

Not that you waited, but since that deadline looms large, I thought I’d share. You can do it, Suzanne! May the writing force be with you! :whip:

You’re almost done! I’d give the Little Engine That Could’s chant, but I’ll just spare it all. I hope to mail my revisions on Friday so maybe we can do a cyber cheers together. And a cyber chug. And a cyber refill. Etc. :bananadance:

That pool looks so inviting. I wish I could be there instead of stuck here in my office. Ugh!

As for the writing, you can do it, Suzanne! It’s the last chapter. Soon you’ll be writing “THE END”.

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
