"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....

I think the way I’m least like my mom is that I’m a bit more open-minded. I’m a little more adventurous than she is. Thank goodness! LOL
Have a wonderful day!

My mom’s also got a thing about cleaning that I’ve never figured out either.
And we don’t have the same sense of humor at all.

Me, I couldn’t care less what I look like, if it’s not comfortable I’m not going to wear it! Couldn’t remember the name of most of the people I’ve ever met (can’t even remember my own phone number), and I’m perfectly content to stay at home (feeding calves a couple hours a day) and raising my child.

After reading the other blogs it seems like I’m not the only one with this same difference.

I’m more open-minded and she isn’t. I try not to interfer in my children’s lives. I’m a homebody and she has to be going somewhere all the time.

I am least like my mother in many ways. Two of them being I love my children unconditionally, and adore my beautiful grandchildren. I always told myself when I was younger, “I am NOT going to be like my mother”.:evil:

My mother and I are nothing alike, but I guess the biggest difference is that I look at what she did to me that I didn’t like it, and I do things differently with my kids. She looks at what her mother did to her that she didn’t like ……… and used that as justification for why it was OK to do that to her kids – but we’re still supposed to feel sorry for her that her mother did this stuff to her!

I’d have to say that the biggest difference between my Mom and myself is that she loves to SHOP and eat out. I absolutely hate both!! Shopping gives me an instant headache. Hope you’re able to relax and enjoy Mother’s Day with your family!!
