Off to the Races

Apr

We’re off to Greensboro today for the Awana games! Our daughter participates in a local Awana club through a neighbor friend’s church. I’ll let you know if her team wins. I’m taking treasure hunting research books with me since I have a feeling this is going to be a long day…. It’s been raining like crazy here so at least she’s not missing a soccer game.

This has been a long week. April is beating me up. I wrote 40 pages this week, prepared three columns, and the month-long online blurbing class I’m teaching started on the first. Is it May yet? I’m tired!

Hey we have soccer here today. Bright sunny day. Supposed to be lower 70′s. Perfect day for soccer…considering the last game was so cold that I watched it from inside the car…

I can’t even imagine all that work! The online course alone would be enough to make me pull out my hair… Hope I’m not bald by the end of May! ;-)

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
