Cats, helping with laundry…..
Some of you might have noticed that yesterday there was a “Rate This Post” tag added at the bottom of all my blog posts. This is mostly just for fun and for some feedback for me about which posts you enjoy the most, but the ratings also get pulled automatically into a top five Most Popular Posts list (with links) in my sidebar (check it out!). The Most Popular Posts, over time, will provide something for new visitors to check out and occasional visitors to catch up on. And you get to make the list! All you have to do is rate each post by clicking on one, two, three, four, or five stars (it’s anonymous–and it’s easy, fun and free! can’t beat that! LOL).
Additional updating this week also included (finally) changing out my Extras page where you can find links to special posts on the blog in the past you may have missed, such as my trip to England, my RWA reports, and the history of our farm. I’ll be adding more to this page in the future. Oh, and don’t miss the copperhead in the daily photo on my sidebar today! (Ack!!)
If that’s not enough to do, here’s a photo of a man in coffee beans. Count the seconds it takes you to find the man. If it takes more than three seconds, supposedly something is very wrong with you but I can’t remember what, so good luck. ![]()

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
