Stalking Again

The elusive deer, caught in broad daylight near the farmhouse….

I’m late today! I’m sorry!! I had a crazy-busy weekend! You? I drove to Lexington to give a talk to Kentucky Romance Writers–which was a lot of fun. (Here’s a shout-out to all my friends at Kentucky Romance Writers–thanks for having me!) 16 had a golf tournament, 14 had a football team picnic, and the Princess had…..a lot of sleep. She is staying up all night and sleeping all day. Wow, is she going to have a rude awakening when school starts……

This week, I have suddenly realized that I have a DEADLINE. And it’s SOON.

(Winners of the books from this weekend’s Free Book Friday: #3–Shari, #12–Susan, #13–Maureen, and #28–Ellie. Winner of the Suzanne Brockmann Extras booklet is #16–Toni. Email me! And I’ve STILL got more books from RWA to give away!!)

Congrats to all the winners! Hurrah!

Suzanne, I’m glad the speech went well; what was the topic? Or may I ask?

My weekend was busy too; aren’t they all? LOL. I woke this morning and for a moment or two, thought it was Sunday and was thrilled to have another day to the weekend. Then I realized it was really Monday. Boohoo! Good thing I like where I work. :-)

    I needed another Sunday, too!!!

The topic was putting emotion into a romance novel. It’s a fun talk, and they were a great group!!

I seem to have added 3 extra kids to my household for the next couple of weeks. One a teen who’s schedule is a bit off as well. Then I’ve got the younger ones who think getting up at 6 (DURING THE SUMMER) is ideal. Ugh.

I’m glad your speech went well Suzanne. I love to go out on the porch in the evenings and watch the deer come down in the field and eat, its so relaxing. This weekend was rough, my baby girl was really sick for the first time, stomach virus with fever and ear infection. :wall:  Man am I glad thats almost over with finally. Congratulations to last weeks winners. Hope everyone has a peaceful evening.

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
