A Pack of Cats

IMG_3637
I have ten cats. Cats aren’t much for family portraits, so it’s hard to get them all together for a picture. Here are seven of them at the feed bowls yesterday afternoon. From left to right: Squiggles, Little, Diego, Buttercup, Killer, Kitten, and Wiggles.

Missing from this photo: Weesie, Sugar, and Spice. (They were avoiding the suppertime rush.)

Haha looks a lot like our house. Cats, you can’t have just one! :) I love how Killer is the fluffiest and probably cutest one there lol.

I’m wondering how many of the cats are indoor cats, and how many are “farm” cats. My grandfather’s, over a hill or six to your east, had cats living in the hay, in the old chicken barn. No animals lived in the house.

Also, put a cover on that electrical outlet. Winter’s a coming (spit snow up here in southern NH this morning.

They are all in and out! (In more in the winter, out more in the summer.)

    Hummmmm,
    Do you have mice??

Just kidding!…I love cats myownself… Are yours all male or do you have some female felines too?..Thinking females are better mousers, at least in my experience…Mine is lazy Tom!

Excuse me while I get this spoiled, rotten cat of ours another treat or I can’t read my favorite blogs today….ha..He walks between the screen and me until I get up and get his treats….

PS..Do you have a recipe for a good tried and true homemade cat treat? I’ve tried a few but my cat just sticks his nose up to the ones I make…but the dog likes it…of course the jealous Shid-
Tzu (Mikey type) will eat anything….
    Thanks,
    B.Ruth

We have four female cats, six males. They all seem pretty good in the mousing department based on what they bring to the back door. (No, I haven’t ever made them homemade treats.)

Umm, Suzanne, is that a leaf or a chewed up mouse corpse in front of the door?

And B.Ruth, my spoiled cat also walks in front of the monitor, on the keyboard, or sits in front of the monitor looking for treats.

I love the yella fellas! Are any of them female? We have three cats in a condo, and I couldn’t get a good picture of them all together to save my soul (unless, of course it’s supper time).

No, the orange cats are all boys. I think it’s pretty rare for an orange/yellow cat to be female.

At first look I saw only 6 cats, so… I thought you have a six-pack of cats.

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
