We got home after 1 a.m. last night from Morgan’s away track meet. Since I’d been to a master gardener class (I’m 5/10th of a master gardener now), rather than go all the way home then back, I waited in the high school parking lot for 2 1/2 hours until the bus showed up. I’ve spent a lot of time in the high school parking lot in the dark in my time. There is no sight sweeter than the lights of the school bus coming over the hill. My cousin had bought me $20 worth of ramps, so I spent 2 1/2 hours in the dark in my Explorer with a bag of ramps. Just sayin’. This morning, I got up and found Jack and Poky eating my rose bushes in the front yard. Meanwhile, Buttercup was eating bird seed. Not the way the animals usually eat bird seed–you know, from the ground where the birds let some fall. No, no, she was using her giant tongue to get directly into the bird feeder. Yes, she was surrounded by a pile of chickens. Patriot was behaving like the perfect new kid on the block, but no matter, I put everyone in the newly-repaired first upper pasture and locked the gate.
After I retrieved my second (now hidden) pair of boots because Chloe had made off with one boot from the pair I left out.
Then I walked around and around until I found my boot.
Now I am going to have a cup of coffee.
And die. Goodbye.
(I’m feeling a little dramatic this morning!)
