Annabelle is looking a bit massive these days.

But it’s all going to change soon! Shearing is first on the agenda in the wool retreat coming May 2 and 3. Attendees will be hands-on in the woolly coats, helping to take them off my three ewes. See how I make things work? Instead of hiring a shearer, I get people to pay me to come shear my sheep. I’M JUST KIDDING! Sort of. Well. It does work out that way, doesn’t it? Hmmm. I can’t complain! Anyway. LauraP, who will be here to teach, is experienced in shearing and will be on hand, as well as Adam, who will be here to do the sheep manhandling.

After shearing will be skirting, cleaning, carding, spinning, knitting, and crocheting. It will be a busy two days! PLUS we’ll be cooking with some local farm-raised lamb and the meals will be delicious. My new lambs will be bouncing in the field, too. I’m hip deep in plans for this retreat, and I do still have some spaces left for this one, so if you have a last-minute hankering to join in, email me at [email protected] and sign up! Almost everything else currently on the schedule for this year is FULL, though I can also take a couple more in the one-day herbals on May 4, if you’re interested.
