Bring a Hoe

My garden languishes in the last throes of pre-planting. It needs work. A lot of work. I hope you’re ready! I mean, you’re coming, aren’t you?

I’d even hitchhike if it would mean giving that sorry scarecrow some moral support!!! :dancingmonster:

  2. Deborah R says:

Coming for garden work? Suzanne Who? :moo:

  3. Diane says:

My garden needs started as well. But with a freaze that showed up this morning I am not in a great hurry. I think I will pull out the hoe this weekend and get started. I might have to make a scare crow too to scare away the critters that visit my garden each year. Needles to say I am not a good vegetable gardner. lol.

  4. Leah says:

You’ll need to show me how to hoe first….oh that’s right, you dont know how either. Hmmm…guess 52 will have to do the hoeing!

  5. CindyP says:

I have this little mantis thingy I could bring! I haven’t hoed since I lived at home and Dad would make an acre garden!

  6. Barbee' says:

Many years ago, my husband jokingly said I was not a good hoer. 😉 😆

  7. Sheila Z says:

Send the chickens in there to scratch and dig. Tell them to make a giant dust bath out of the garden.

  8. Canned Quilter says:

You go on ahead, I’ll be right there !

  9. m says:

Time to dust off the tractor! Then I recall you discussing all the manure/straw in a previous post – till in the aged bedding/manure … Waste Not 8)

  10. Lana says:

Ooooh, just think of the possibilities! Envision the bounty coming from your garden, and the rows of canned goodness sitting on your shelf like jewels. You are so blessed. My HOA overlords won’t allow me to garden. Can you believe that!

  11. Lana says:

Silly question, this, but do you compost?

  12. glenda says:

Suzanne, that’s why God made garden tillers!

  13. marymac says:

Suzanne I keep telling you that I’ll come live with you, but sorry, right now I have baby chicks getting ready to hatch. Guess I’ll have to take a rain check, lol

  14. Ulrike says:

We need a gardening coop! I’ll help you with yours if you’ll help me with mine. There’s even grandmother bread waiting to go into my (functional!) oven tonight.

  15. Senta Sandberg says:

My chickens love shovels. They see me with the shovel they come running like I had a bowl full of lettuce or something. They have learned that with every shovel turn there are worms. They actually fall in the hole before I can turn the dirt. When Sheila Z says send the chickens she is not kidding they did a great job in my garden. Too good in fact. I had to replant the potatoes cause they dug them all up and the onions are randomly coming up all over the garden plot.
