When I bring cookies to the gate of the goat yard, the mommies can’t get there.

But they know when I have cookies with me. They have cookie radar. They wait impatiently for me to come to them at the goat house.

There’s fierce competition for the first cookie.

Which one of these cookie mommies nailed the first cookie yesterday? A 2011 Chickens in the Road calendar is riding on your answer! This calendar giveaway is sponsored by North Pole Diaries. (The life and times of Santa and Mrs. C. Very cute site with lots of kid-friendly crafts–check it out for the Valentine’s ideas!)
One winner from the correct responses will be drawn by random comment number to receive a CITR 2011 calendar. Eligible entry ends at midnight U.S. Eastern time tonight (February 13). You can only guess once. This post will be updated with the winner by 9 a.m. tomorrow (February 14). Good luck! (It’s February. The calendars gotta go!)
See who won the calendar in the What I Did Yesterday giveaway here.
UPDATE 02/14/11: Will the real cookie mommy please stand up?

It was Sprite! She nabbed the first cookie yesterday. Nutmeg doesn’t look too pleased, does she?
The winning comment number with the correct answer (had to draw about 10 times to get the random number generator to land on someone who said Sprite!) is #9, Andrea the Kitchen Witch. Email me at CITRgiveaways(at)yahoo.com with your full name and address for shipping!

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....

Did you make enough of those gingerbread boys to last until next Christmas? If you run out, do you make special goat cookies for them or -gasp- buy them at the store?

Great pictures! I love how they all look out at you over the gate or through the fence. They must love you a lot! (Or is it the cookies?)

And, just in case you already asked & i missed it, thought i’d mention;
you could give all the goat-babies “Cookie names”:
Chocolate Chip, Sugar, Macadamia, etc.
Just an idea…
