Morgan, lighting Weston’s birthday cake candles.

He turned 18 yesterday. He’ll graduate high school in a few weeks. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?

With the lovely Mariah at his birthday dinner.

Totally vegan cake, by the way. (The cake. The frosting.)

I’ll just keep posting this picture.

Until I get found out.

    Suzanne,

I rarely comment, but that last picture with barney and the sword made me do it. My daughter turned 18 3 weeks ago and graduates in 3 weeks. Her cousin also graduates at the same time. I have a picture of the two of them when they were about 18 months. My daughter dislikes this picture alot. My sister and I had a banner made with the picture on it and we are going to hang it on the garage for there graduation party. They will have a fit. I cant wait……

Happy Birthday Weston! May 1 was the day I had my firstborn. She would have thought it was pretty amazing that she was born on the same day as the son of my favorite blogger!

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
