While Morgan was feeding her face on pepperoni pizza I made for her and Weston, I fixed this pizza for me and 52. I said, “Look, Morgan, everything on THIS pizza is homemade. Homemade cheese, basil and tomatoes from our garden, and–” She interrupted with, “You can’t grow mushrooms.”

AND I SAID, “YES, I DID!!!!”

Ha.

HAHAHAHA.

Okay, she didn’t care.

That cheese looks so good! It melts better than anything storebought! And I’m sure it tastes better too!

She has lots to learn! Fast forward 10 years and she will be ordering it at a restaurant and shelling out big bucks for “Mom’s Pizza!” Have a great weekend Suzanne…

OK, you’ve convinced me! :hungry: All-homemade pizza, right down to grinding the wheat for crust,is a staple around here, but now I see that I am clearly depriving my family of homegrown mushrooms! There’s an acre of native oak forest on our farm, so no excuses.

This is my first time leaving a comment but I just had to say that looks wonderful!! The fact it is ALL homemade is quite impressive to this city gal. I don’t know how you do all you do but I envy you. I have enjoyed your blog so very much & I’m trying to catch up on your past postings. Your photos are great. I’m an artist & love painting farm scenes so I get ideas from looking at your great shots. Keep up the fantastic work.

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
