We’re home. It was very hard to leave Ross, but today he is on his way to the Navy’s submarine training base in Goose Creek, South Carolina. I should be hearing from him within the next day or two with his new address so I can send him his cell phone! “A school” isn’t boot camp. He can have his cell phone. And cookies!

Everybody’s fine here–and growing! The babies are getting frisky!

P.S. I’ll get back up to speed around here tomorrow, I promise!

You just take your time Momma – I think you have some cookies to make. We’ll be patient. [And the goat-lings are adorable. Yay Clover!]

    Take care.

  2. Sonia says:

Absolutely adorable!!! It looks like that little one has blue eyes, and it looks like he has a little sailors cap on! Just too cute.

  3. skippymom says:

PS – I realize goat-lings is not a word, but? I don’t have goats and they looking like goat-lings to me. Besides I didn’t know what they were called. Kids?

  4. Rose H says:

I think Sonia just named one of the kids! “Hello Sailor” ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜†

  5. Barbee' says:

Thing 1 and Thing 2 are sssssoooo cute! Take your time, S., we will still be here. You probably need a little time to transition after all the driving and emotional events.

Thank you for giving all of us an insight into your world….ours are very similar except for the military experience. Your family is certainly amazing!

  13. Nancy says:

Rest up…we’ll all be here when you’re ready! My son’s graduation in Goose Creek began my love affair with Charleston! What a grand old city that is. Carriage rides, street markets, rainbow houses and GHOST WALKS…oh yeah, and Palmetto bugs or as they are known there, Carolina skateboards…I just call them BIG ARSE COCKROACHES!!! lol :dancingmonster:

  14. Mim says:

    Welcome back. :pawprint:

  15. Karen says:

Many, many moons ago, I went to boot camp graduation in Waukegan, Illinois (the graduation was outside though). I lived in Goose Creek for about 1 1/2 years too but we left in 1987. Very pretty area. You’ll have to visit the old, open, slave market in downtown Charleston – the vendors sell all kinds of things. And the Palmetto bugs ARE huge – you can throw a saddle on some of them.

  16. Brenda Evans says:

Welcome home – oh my those goat babies are so darn cute. More pictures please – how precious. Glad Ross is on his way and can have some personal items now.

  17. Kristen E says:

Yep, that one on the right has to be named Sailor, in honor of your awesome son. Congrats to Ross and to your entire family – you have kids to be proud of!

Looks like all the fur and feathered babies did well in your absence (good caretaker while you were gone) I’m sure they missed you lots too!
Get rested up, make cookies, relax, we’ll be here…

  20. Miss Becky says:

Welcome home. When Ross has time, ask him to enroll at Soldiers Angels: https://soldiersangels.org/join-or-adopt.html I’m a volunteer on the Soldiers Angels Baking Team. I send letters and care packages to “my troops” every month. This is a great morale booster for our men/women in uniform!

  23. Cobby says:

  25. Yvonne says:

Sailor is a great name! But what would you call the other one? It should be similiar/related type of name….hmmmm. You did a great job of keeping us posted while you were gone, and thank you for sharing it with us! You have a wonderful life and family.
