In Georgia’s Kitchen

Aug

This is what Georgia’s kitchen looks like these days.

Georgia died three years ago. As those of you who’ve been here know, her son–my cousin Mark–passed away in July, suddenly. These days, his wife Sheryl is working hard to get Georgia’s house renovated. It’s been sitting empty for three years. It’s been a big cleanout just to get this far, and much more work remains to be done, but I’ve been over there quite a bit helping Sheryl. More on that in future posts!

Meanwhile, Sheryl is doing well and appreciates all the kind words and thoughts for her in this difficult time. Many of you have asked also about Rodney. After a five-week stay in the hospital following a traumatic vehicle accident on the job, they finally let him back out in the real world! He’s recovering, and has a long road to getting back to walking again and is not able to work at this time, but he’s doing well also–and thank you for asking!

Hello Suzanne, it is so nice to see you are back again. I am so happy to here that Rodney is doing well, and that Sheryl is getting along as well. I can’t believe it has been 3 years since Georgia passed, time is going so fast now days. Will the house still stay in the family? I hope so. I know we have all been thinking about you and hoping the best for you, hopefully things will turn around now for you and your family.
    You have been sorely missed.

So glad Rodney is doing better, and Sheryl is coming along, it is not an easy road, losing a loved one.
It is nice to hear from you again and hope you are taking care of yourself also.

I agree with Joelle, it is hard to believe it has been three years since Georgia passed. I’m sure keeping busy and renovating Georgia’s house has helped Sheryl deal with the passing of Mark. Again, I’m so sorry for your family’s loss.

I’m so glad to see your post today. I know you’ve been through a very difficult time. I’m sorry Rodney has such a long way to go yet, but glad he is out of the hospital.

Thank you for updating us, and please take care!

I’ve missed you, but I’ve been busy job hunting since May 1. My thoughts and prayers are with Sheryl and you and your families. A sudden death is very hard because you had no time to say good-bye. It was like that with my husband 2 years ago. There are no good words to say to Sheryl and her family other than we are thinking of you. I’m glad to hear that Rodney is doing better. I hope you and the farm critters are good too. I hope you’ll have time to give some farm updates soon. Big Hugs from Texas. Yes, I had family in harms way in Houston but fortunately they all live north of Houston where there was less flooding. I’m in the Dallas area so no impacts here.
