 Dookie you are to cute!! How old is Dookie? We just lost our old Beagle “Henry Dew!!” He was 14. He did not like the snow so we would have to shovel out a big square for him to go out and go to the potty..He was not a snow trooper like Dookie!!

What a cutie! I had a shitzu/bichon for 15 years, until recently. He looked just like that all winter long.

Dookie looks like our little Shih Tzu Chelsea only my hubby got tired of seeing hair in her mouth so he shaved it off. OH brother…he should have just left her because now she looks like a little Sheep Tzu. He did the same thing to Bubba (Shih Tzu)….I’m sure our big dog Shep and the donkey’s laughed at them when they went outside..poor things. Dookie definitely looks like a farm dog. :hungry2: :happypuppy:

I have to laugh everytime I see him! His city cousins would cringe at his “unkept” appearance…but ask who’s happier?! We had a cock-a-poo, white no less, that loved to romp in snow, sleet, rain, whatever! He also loved to go camping and hiking and drag rocks out of rivers. Not your typical poodle cross but oh so happy!

Dookie is so cute with his West Virginia wild and woolly look! At first I couldn’t recognize him. At first glance I thought “Who is that!”, thinking it was a new dogie. Changing subject: I couldn’t sleep last night after so much excitement yesterday. I watched the Olympics for hours. Then at 8:00p.m. Eastern Time Zone we watched the Westminster Kennel Dog Show at Madison Square Gardens – the first 4 groups. Tonight will show 3 more groups then Best In Show. I mention it in case anyone is interested. I think Dookie should get the TV remote tonight so he can watch. I bet he would drool over all those beautiful dogs! Dookie, the Puli took the Herding Group, French Bulldog: the Non-sporting Group; Poodle the Toy Group; and the prettiest Whippet I ever saw took the Hound Group. Sigh…wish you had been here to help us watch.

LOL… He is marked just like our Shit-zu Domino was!! We got so tired of the mud being tracked in, I taught him to stand on a rug inside the door so his feet could be wiped off. (For some reason, I have cream colored carpet.)

    “STAND, DOMINO!! FEET!! Good Boy!!”

Other than that one thing, he knew nothing. Thought he was a large cat or the human in charge.

I think this picture is so funny because I have a Shi Tzu too. MIne was dragging in mud and gunk whenever he went out for a pottie break and was bringing in mud and grass. I took him to the doggie groomer to get him clipped a little shorter. Trouble is, I am living in South Korea and what Koreans do to their dogs is often really funny looking. Mine went in looking cute and a little too puffy, and came out looking like a sausage. I wrote about it on my blog at tribeofstinson.com. Your blog is helping sustain me when I get homesick. I miss living in the country so much. Thank you for your daily inspiration. It gives me hope because I know that in 4 years when my husbands tour in Korea is over, I will come home and get my chance to raise chickens, and maybe some bees too. So Thanks from this homesick Army wife.

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
