Mark

Those of you who have read here regularly over the years know of my cousin Mark well. He passed away suddenly yesterday afternoon. More about my beloved cousin at another time.

If you’re here, checking here, after I’ve not been here so much, you also know Rodney. He had a very bad wreck almost two weeks ago and has been in the hospital, and is still in the hospital.

Thoughts and prayers for my cousin’s wife Sheryl and their son Madison, and Rodney, much appreciated. I will be back, I promise. It’s a rough time around here.

Hi Suzanne: I am very sorry to hear about the sudden loss of Mark and about Rodney’s wreck. I can’t imagine what it is like to have a farm with animals to tend, an Etsy store to run, and workshops to conduct while trying to cope with this terrible turn of life events. May you have lots of love and support during this awful time. Although we have never met, you’re in my heart.

Suzanne, I’m so sorry for your loss. You must feel overwhelmed dealing with the grief on top of worrying about Rodney. As someone else mentioned, keeping the farm going and having Rodney in the hospital must be especially hard. I hope you have help. Prayers that Rodney will have a complete recovery and prayers of comfort for you and Mark’s wife and daughter. God bless you all.

The Slanted Little House

"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....
