"It was a cold wintry day when I brought my children to live in rural West Virginia. The farmhouse was one hundred years old, there was already snow on the ground, and the heat was sparse-—as was the insulation. The floors weren’t even, either. My then-twelve-year-old son walked in the door and said, “You’ve brought us to this slanted little house to die." Keep reading our story....

Ummm! I got Cherry-o pies in the fridge. Good thing I’ve got the ingredients to make more or they would’nt have made it to Mom’s for Thanksgiving. She’s made pumpkin and pecan pies I know without her having to tell me! :)Enjoy all the goodies today!

Might not go well with the rum, but here is my punkin pie tip: Mix a stick of cream cheese with a little milk and sugar, spread it over the crust, then pour in the filling and bake! It is delish!

Yum! I wish I had yours here. Cousin Kroger provided our feast today as hubby just got out of the hospital a week ago. It’s just 2 of us this year… all the turkey we could eat for several days… Thanksgiving heaven.
