I mentioned my problem to my neighbor, Jim, and he offered to come to my rescue. He came over with another guy last night and went after the hornets. I knocked the nest down today. They are dead.

Yay for good neighbors! And Yay that the hornets are gone!

  2. yvonnem says:

The only good hornet is a DEAD hornet! :dancingmonster:

  3. PinkyMac says:

I bet those neighbors had a good time fighting the hornets 😀 Boys (I know they’re men) love having an excuse to blow things up and/or kill them! You do have great neighbors Suzanne but that comes from being a great neighbor yourself.

Chivalry is not dead! Gotta love living in the country with the knights in shining (?) chore-boots – don’t know where we’d be without them! :clover:

Good for you, it was nice of your neighbors to help. Yhe only good hornet is a dead hornet, may sure you watch that spot next year, it is a good place for a nest—for the hornets, but certainly not you.

  6. Cousin Sheryl says:

You better make sure that you have plenty of food and supplies on hand plus a big box of aluminum foil. That’s 2 hornet’s nests this year: one low and one high. Wears going to have a doozy of a bipolar winter!

  7. Cousin Sheryl says:

“We are ” (darn auto -correct)

  8. Glenda says:

That was high up! Not sure the spray would have reached it without the ladder. You are blessed with good neighbors.

Cousin Sheryl, I get the extra food but why the aluminum foil?

  9. rurification says:

I hate hornets. I’d much rather have wasps. They find their way inside the house once in a while and as long as they leave me alone and hang out near the window, I leave them alone. But 30 wasps in my bedroom would be too, too much. Gotta love that long stream spray and nice people to help you out with it.

  10. Cousin Sheryl says:

Glenda – just type “aluminum foil” into the search box to the right here on CITR. You will discover Suzanne’s obsession with aluminum foil. 😆 Funny read!

  11. Cousin Sheryl says:

Glenda, the post name is “Snowed Under, Send Aluminum Foil.” If anyone wants to know what to get Suzanne for Christmas, just give her the magic, silvery stuff ** FOIL ** hehehehe
