Proving I’m Alive

I know how to dress up for a party.

I’m afraid if I don’t post today, you might think I’m dead! I’m just tired from too much fun. I’ll be back tomorrow with a full party post. I haven’t even unloaded my camera yet onto my laptop. The photos in this post were taken by Jerry. In the photo above, I had just led Beulah Petunia and Glory Bee up from the hinterlands where they could join the party. (This was earlier in the party, before the milking demonstration. I just brought BP up to visit.) The party was so much fun–food, people, food, and more food! And demonstrations and door prizes galore. I gave away CITR 2011 calendars, BBBs, homemade soap, home-canned goodies, a handmade bird feeder, a hand-crafted table from Twiggity Rusticks, homemade potato soup mixes, and a hand-stitched pillow. (Much of which was donated.)

Signing up for door prizes at the party.

The best part is–if you weren’t there? YOU GET TO JOIN IN THE FUN! Tomorrow I’ll be posting door prizes giveaways all day, right here on the Daily Farm page. So y’all come back now, ya hear?

I had wondered….if you made it through the party!!! This is my second time checking in today to see party pictures!!! I’m sure you were exhausted! It sounds like it was so much fun…sure wish I could’ve been there. Looking forward to more details!

  2. texwisgirl says:

Did you wear makeup to your party or are you just naturally that lovely?! I’d say you were dressed just fine! 🙂

  3. rileysmom says:

  6. MMHONEY says:

I would say that NUMB is the word. You will be back in stride about WED. I am sure a good time was had by all. Who could improve on the weather???????

  7. heidiannie says:

Parties are so much fun- and on the scale you give them-they can take a life of their own and suck you dry!
Even with help, you must be exhausted!
And I think- given the activities at your party you are dressed quite appropriately.
Rest and take the chance to put your feet up!

  8. diana in jax says:

  10. farmershae says:

You ARE dressed up. We all know if it weren’t for company, you wouldn’t have the jeans on!! You look quite fancy! I can’t wait for all the pics – it looks like a great party!! Thank you for including us unfortunate souls that couldn’t make it!

  11. Darlene in Ks says:

I’ve checked in several times today also and knew you must be exhuasted and yes, I started thinking perhaps something did happen. So it was a pleasant surprise to see your post. That’s a great picture of you! Looking forward to tomorrow’s posts

  12. Patrice says:

I’m glad it went well. I’m glad you had fun. I had looked it up on Mapquest back when you issued the invitation. I hinted to hubby, begged, pleaded, bargained, and still knew in my heart that a really long drive wouldn’t work for a variety of reasons. I’m plotting and planning for next year already!

  13. Barbee' says:

This gives meaning to the term “dead tired”. I knew you must be; daughter and I talked about it at lunch today. I, too, have had a little uneasy feeling today wondering if something had “happened” (my imagination is way too active!) so am relieved to find this quick, and very satisfying post — thank you. Hate to tell you, but each year older causes some of us to take a little longer to recover each year. I hope your helpers made you stop and put your feet up after the party was over. It’ll all get done eventually. The decorations will last and be pretty a few more days. And, the memories will keep recurring forever. Bless you!

You look so pretty! Prettiest farmer I ever saw. Did Clover wear her tiara?

  14. Yvonne says:

I was wondering about you too and getting very worried! Thanks for letting us know that nothing bad happened to you!!! :snoopy:

  15. northcountrygirl says:

Suzanne, those are Country Girl clothes! Glad you all had a good time. Maybe some year I’ll get to make it. Rest up now. Tomorrow we’ll look at pictures and hear all the fun things that happened.

  16. Jessica says:

Us non party goers can wait patiently for pics! I would be tired out too!

  17. Ramona Slocum says:

Nice to see pictures of you. You are usually the one taking the pics. It sounds like so much fun. Wish I were your neighbor.

  18. Canner Joann says:

The party was so great! We ate, made soap, made apple juice with the steam juicer, milked BP (although after she hit me in the face with her tail, I gave up!), fed the goats cookies, loved on Jack and Poky and generally had a good time. Yes, Suzanne is that lovely, 52 is quite handsome (and has a voice to fall in love with!), and both Weston and Morgan are gorgeous.

I loved meeting Georgia, Sheryl, Dede, Natalie and Cindy P.

I hope I can make it back next year!

  19. lizzie says:

You MUST BE TIRED!!!! I think we can all wait for the pictures! I am glad you dressed for the party!!! I live in T shirts and jeans, those are my party clothes toooooo!! Sounds like you all had a wonderful time!!! Take a REST! :fairy:

  20. Cousin Sheryl says:

I have slept ALL DAY, today. And I was just a guest! I am getting ready to call Suzanne and chat about the party!

It was a great party! Nice to meet you, DeDe and Joann. Enjoyed visiting with CindyP and Natalie.

Nice to meet everyone! It was amazing to me how many states were represented.

    One word…..WOW!

  21. Jo says:

What I want to know is: was FRANK there!!!??? Did anyone get pictures of his ARMS!!! 😉 :happyfeet: :shimmy: :sheepjump:

  22. wvhomecanner says:

Jo, Frank wasn’t there LOL! But we did hear him working down the hill today LOL!
Cindy, Natalie and I didn’t leave Stringtown Rising until 2PM today – so it’s no wonder everyone thought we’d all fallen over the hill 😉 Actually, we spent all morning in the rockers just rockin’ and talkin’. It was a GREAT party. Hated to leave…..

  23. Diane says:

Can’t wait to see more pictures! What a beautiful day for the party. I sure hope you have more pictures of the lady behind you with the maroon shirt and short blonde hair, I am looking for a new hairstyle and hers looks so chic and carefree!!! Waiting on pins and needles to see all the fun. :snoopy:

  24. Sally Ann says:

Oh, I wish I could have come…You guys must have had the time of your life with all the animals and demos … and food and more food and door prized ! Wish we had that kind of fun on the west side of the U.S.! But I’m happy that you all had tons of fun !

  25. Vicki in So. CA says:

I trusted that you were ok… just really tired. I’m so glad everything went well, and the weather cooperated. I wish I had been there.

  26. Courtney says:

Yeah, I was a bit worried that Clover would trample you to death while trying to get attention from all her adoring fans.

  27. whaledancer says:

I figured you were just tuckered out, but had to check once more before bed. Thanks for the quick check-in. If you hadn’t posted by now I would have started to worry.

  28. Jill says:

I’ve been looking for a potato soup mix – can you post the recipe for yours? I want one to send to my daughter at college.

  29. Ramona says:
