Spa

No stump table for me.

The birds got a spa instead.

It’s elevated, so the animals can’t get into it, and wired down so they can’t knock it over. I was kinda getting into the stump table idea, but I can’t complain.

I love my birds!

    Yup, they’ll appreciate your gift!

I love them too, but don’t feed them in the summertime.

Is that ice on the bird bath?

I love the idea of a spa.

I feed my birds all year so I can watch ‘Wild Bird TV’ while doing dishes or other tasks at the kitchen counter. I’ve also read that birds near backyard feeders have more young survive and thrive.

I see your goldfinches are putting on their fancy yellow coats for spring too Suzanne!

Where are the pesky squirrels? How do you not have squirrels raiding the feeder?

I started feeding birds on my covered porch over a year ago & really enjoy it- three feeders at present. I can have “pets” without vet bills! My little bungalow has waist-high brick pillars on either side of the front steps & I’ve placed a 2″ flat plastic dish on one that I keep filled with water. Last week was the first time I saw one of my “children” bathing in it – a female cardinal must’ve thought it was a spa because she splashed around for about five minutes. So much fun to watch. My squirrels jump up to drink from the bowl too. I tolerate them & only torment them when they try to get into the feeders. Life is good in Kansas!

Hey, Suzanne – the post about Jack that you noted on Facebook is not showing up on CITR. FYI.

    Nice bird station!

  9. Yvonne says:

If you don’t notice birds using the spa, you may want to put a rock or two in there for them to stand on. Sometimes the water is a little too deep for smaller birds. Just an FYI, that’s what I had to do. Have a great day, it’s actually gonna be a hot one today! :sun:

Perfect! I’m sure the birds are very grateful too:)

What? You have American Goldfinches there already? And I haven’t seen any here yet. I love those birds. I have 6 cats, so I don’t feel right putting up bird feeders for them to be murdered. So they have to eat what’s available in the yards and fields. They do snack on chicken scratch. I guess the cats think they are just small chickies then. That’s a great set-up you have. I can see why they love it there. Happy birds!

I adore the sound of my birds in the summer watch the gold finch bath themselves on the water falls.
Love your Spa gave me a great idea…
