The Suspect Was Described as Rotund

I approached the escapee with the usual weapon–a cookie. One of my special reserved four-month-old Christmas tree cookies that I keep in a dwindling stash for desperate occasions. There is a spot where the ground slopes at the gate to the goat yard. We’ve had escapee problems there before. We have a piece of wood fashioned to plug up the gap due to the slope, but every once in a while the goats manage to work it loose and push it down. Leave it to the fattest goat in the goat yard, Nutmeg aka Rotunda, to make it happen. She’s a notorious escaper. (See Escaped Goat Leads Stringtown Farmer on Slow-Speed Chase.)

I got her back in and put a temporary block on the gap until 52 can fix it better.

And seriously, look at that! She’s sticking her tongue out at me!!!!!

“So, plan did not work. Back to drawing board for next mode of escape.” pronounced Nutmeg, and she remembered the taste of that cookie and decided that another would taste even better.

I just had a thought, and it shows how little I know about such things. Suzanne, does it cost you money when we use these little emoticons? ??? Love the post! That Nutmeg is one smart “cookie”. Maybe, her first baby should be named “Cookie”.

  12. Valerie says:

Nutmeg has 24/7 to think up ways to escape. Poor Suzanne is so busy with so many other things on her plate, I fear that Nutmeg will prevail Just like my escapee donkeys. Can you say “hotwire”?

  13. whaledancer says:

I think Nutmeg has figured out that it’s a game: if she can get out, she wins a cookie. And like most games, once she wins at one level, the next level is more challenging. πŸ˜†
