Walking the Line

Feb

You can see by the tracks in the snow (which is finally melting, yay!) how rarely the animals stray off their path. They have a path to the goat house, a path to their feeding area, and a path to the tree where the bird feeders hang. Everybody likes to hang out under that tree and pick up seeds that fall out of the feeders. But–stay on the path! No straying off the path! Even the chickens and cats use the path.

That is a great picture. Love how all the animals big and small all lined up on the path. It will be intresting to see how they act once the snow melts. lol.

  12. Chic says:

Oh oh …there’s always one that has to be different! That’s just so cute. My male donkey has to stay on his own trails but our little female who is in another pasture…she walks all over the place. Guess she’s a free spirit! :hungry2:

  13. Kim Gibson says:

I have put your blog first on my list to read… it just plain makes me smile each day!

  14. Julia says:

Cute picture. I’m with Diane here. Is this just to avoid walking in the snow? They don’t do this year round do they? Do the dogs use the path? And do you find yourself following along, instead of cutting through the snow? Fascinating.

  15. Leah says:

How cute is that? They dont want to get cold “feet”!

  16. Valerie says:

Here at our farm, we call it the “Yellow Brick Road”, cause the animals always follow it…deer paths, too!

  17. rain says:

  27. Sarah says:

This reminds me of the string we used to have, but snow wasn’t involved. We had an old cow dog who adopted a little lamb, who took up with a motherless chick, who was followed by a cat. Everywhere.

  28. Laurie in Wisconsin says:

You were lucky to catch this cute moment. You should enter this photo in a contest, a real winner! JUST LIKE YOU! Have a great day!

  29. Cheryl says:

  43. Crissy says:

That’s funny! We humans tend to do the same thing, stick with the tried and true, the familiar. Food for thought- a well worn path can quickly become a rut!
