Here is an applesauce cake that is older than I am.
Aunt Gladys gave it to her niece, who was my next door neighbor. It did not have exact measurements – so together we came up with this one.
Difficulty: Easy
Cook Time: 2 1/2 - 3 hoursIngredients
3 C. hot applesauce
1 C. margarine
4 tsp baking soda
1 C. cherry preserves
2 C. sugar
1 tsp each of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves
4 C. flour
1 pound raisins, coated with flour
1 1/2 C. chopped pecans
Directions
Mix applesauce, margarine, and baking soda together. Add cherry preserves and mix well.
Mix together sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, flour, raisins, and pecans.
Combine the two mixtures and bake in a greased and floured tube pan in a slow oven (275F) for 2 1/2-3 hours.

Sorry, I’m a new cook. When you say soda are you talking about baking soda or coca cola? I’m sure this is a stupid question but I honestly don’t know.
